It was in fact someone I mentored back in the 90s in the then Romance Writers of Australia Isolated Writers Scheme. Like you, she was so responsive to my suggestions and I am thrilled that now she is a multi-published Mills and Boon author.Mary Hawkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12603850711168486457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9203846063679523476.post-73479531417800703632012-07-01T13:58:09.487+10:002012-07-01T13:58:09.487+10:00Amanda, ss many of us are aware who read and love ...Amanda, ss many of us are aware who read and love older books, POV has become as increasing "no-no" in the last few years. However, I still think some "purist POVers" go a bit too far when they demand only one POV a scene (unless a very brief one) and some even a chapter. POV can be changed in a long scene but has to be skillfully done so the reader knows immediately in the first few words the POV has been switched. However, I think most of us would agree that mainly best-selling, very experienced authors can get away with it as it seems most editors would also reject it.Mary Hawkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12603850711168486457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9203846063679523476.post-61298744432242066092012-07-01T07:00:40.139+10:002012-07-01T07:00:40.139+10:00Show, don't tell! It transformed so many scenes in my book, bringing in the get-wrenching emotion that my readers talk about now. Thanks again Mary for your abundance.Jo Wanmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08601438922741057908noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9203846063679523476.post-89673222811158878722012-06-29T08:15:22.183+10:002012-06-29T08:15:22.183+10:00Yes, head-hopping was one of the first things I le...Yes, head-hopping was one of the first things I learnt about.
